Robin Herr

Inspired by the shifting landscapes of New England, my work explores the interplay of color, light, texture, and form in the natural world. Recent paintings focus on the dunes of the Outer Cape, where late-day light transforms the landscape and creates dramatic contrasts between illuminated and shadowed surfaces. I am drawn to the visual tension and energy that emerge at these points of transition.

Marshes and meadows are recurring subjects, offering a sense of quiet minimalism while revealing layers of visual and ecological complexity. I am also interested in places where the natural and built environments converge, and in the subtle dialogue between human intervention and nature's enduring presence.

I earned a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts

University, where I studied painting with Barnet Rubenstein and Henry Schwartz. My work has been exhibited in galleries and regional museums throughout New England. https://robinherrpaintings.com/
